2027 Momentum

The Easton Salt Lake Archery Center presents the 2027 Momentum Shoot in an all new format!

This will be the first tournament that applies to the Shooter of the Year, so you don’t want to miss out!

Momentum 2027 will consist of two parts:

1. Qualification Round

   • Follows the Vegas Shoot scoring rules as well as Vegas target sizes

   • Archers will shoot 3 arrows per end for 20 ends, totalling 60 arrows

   • Qualification scores will be used for Shooter of the Year standings

2. Elimination Round

• Elimination brackets are seeded by Qualification Round results

• Single-elimination style

• Will determine tournament winners and medals

• Must be completed to remain eligible for Shooter of the Year

Cub and Rec Divisions are not eligible for Shooter of the Year standings, but can still participate in Elimination Rounds

Dates & Times

• Event Date: February 13th, 2027* Subject to change

• Check-In: 9:00am

• Event Start: 10:00am

  • Blank bale will be allowed from 9:00am to 9:45am

  • Qualification’s two official practice ends will start at 10:00am

  • Elimination rounds will start immediately after Qualification Round scorecard verification

• Awards right after Eliminations end and scorecards are verified

Registration Options:

• Secure your spot in all 5 Shooter of the Year tournaments at once with the ESLAC Shooter of the Year Pass for Adults and Youth

  • Pre-registers for each of the 5 tournaments in the competitive divisions under one transaction

  • Add-on available to compete in Money division of RMC

  • Guarantees same categories are registered for each tournament (no more accidental mis-entries that mess up SOTY standings!)

  • Ability to cancel tournament registration up until 11:59pm the day tournament registration closes with full refund

  • Only available until February 13th, 2027 at 11:59pm

• Preregister individually for series tournaments through tournament registration pages

  • Register for each tournament individually

  • Can change divisions based on competition or bow type

Details

Qualification Round:

• 3 arrows per end, 20 ends totaling 60 arrows

• Halftime after the 10th end for 10-15 Minutes

• Rec Division will shoot at 10 yards at 60cm targets regardless of bow type

• All competitive divisions will shoot at 20 yards

  • Target Faces:

    • 60cm Targets

      • Cub Freestyle Limited Recurve and Barebow

      • Youth Freestyle Limited Recurve and Barebow

      • Young Adult Freestyle Limited Recurve and Barebow

    • 40 cm Targets

      • All Freestyle and Freestyle Bowhunter divisions

      • All Adult and Senior divisions (including Freestyle Limited Recurve and Barebow)

Elimination Round:

• Seeded by Qualification Round results

• Single-elimination style

• Will determine tournament winners and medals

• Must be completed to remain eligible for Shooter of the Year

To submit an eligible Shooter of the Year Score, archers must register, participate, and turn in a completed scorecard, defined as:

• Full, prescribed arrow count has been shot and scores noted on scorecard

  • !! This means Quals AND Elims for Momentum !!

  • Withdrawing without completing the number of arrows prescribed in the tournament rule-set will result in 100 points for SOTY standings**

• Correctly signed and verified at DOS at the end of each tournament

**In the event of a medical emergency or catastrophic equipment failure, the Tournament Director may, at their sole discretion, approve an exception to the prescribed arrow count. Results from an approved exception may still be eligible to count toward SOTY standings.**

Age Divisions

Age Division is determined by the archer’s birth year

• Cub: Up to and including 2016

• Youth: Up to and including 2013

• Young Adult: 2010-2012

• Adult: 1978-2009

• Senior: 1977 and before

Participants compete in their respective age category based on their birth year

- All genders can shoot in the Open division

- Seniors can participate in Adult divisions

- All ages younger than Adult can shoot in an older division (except Senior)

** The following divisions do not qualify for Shooter of the Year, but do receive tournament level recognition **

• Cub Division - medal division

• Rec Division (not age specific) - certificate of completion

Bow Divisions:

• Freestyle: Any sight and written memorandum; hand-operated release aid; rear stabilizer may not touch archer

• Freestyle Limited Recurve: Olympic recurve

• Freestyle Bowhunter: Max of 5 pin sight fixed (after official practice); stabilizer cannot exceed 12“ from base of bushing to tip of stabilizer; no magnification

• Barebow: Stabilizers allowed (no more than 12” from base of bushing to tip of stabilizer); finger position can move
